National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. The annual event enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement and fosters a true sense of community.

Preserving Relationships

Elwood is a community where neighbors know each other, and families feel comfortable approaching their local police and fire officials. The National Night Out event is a way to continue and preserve those relationships.

Touch a Truck

The Elwood event will feature Touch a Truck photos with police, fire and military vehicles, face painting, a free cookout, crime prevention tips, games, prizes, activities and more.

Location

Tyler Park, formerly known as Little Park, is located at the corner of Mississippi Avenue and Wood Street in Elwood. Residents are encouraged to walk and ride bicycles to the park.

Porch-Light Vigil

The Elwood Police Department encourages all residents to keep their porch lights on during the evening hours of August 4th. The Porch Light Vigil will show support for the continued police and community partnership.
