Notice of Public Hearing
Notice is hereby given of a Public Hearing to be held before the Village of Elwood Planning Commission on November 28, 2023 at 7:00 pm at the Elwood Village Hall located at 401 E. Mississippi Avenue, Elwood, Illinois. The purpose of the public hearing is to hear comments regarding a proposed amendment to the text of the Village Zoning Ordinance . The amendment would clarify that variances granted by the Village do not expire in twelve months unless the variance is not utilized by the applicant and also would permit the President and Board of Trustees to extend the twelve mointh period for an additional twelve month period .
The public is welcome to attend and participate in the public hearing. A copy of the proposed amendment is available and may be reviewed at the Village Hall during normal business hours. Any persons requiring special accommodation to attend or participate in the hearing should contact the Village of Elwood at 815-423-5011 one week prior to the hearing. The Village will also make a copy of the proposed amendment that is the subject of the public hearing available on its website at www.villageofelwood.com.
